Carrington Engineering Sales, founded in 1963 by R. Gray Carrington, was created to market and sell electronic, mechanical and electrical equipment. The company originally had seven offices throughout North and South Carolina and sold directly to industries as well as through consulting engineers and electrical wholesalers. As the industry evolved, Carrington Engineering Sales changed as well. In 1984, the company spun off its electrical and electronic business and focused on mechanical equipment. This equipment includes blowers, pneumatic conveying, blending, vacuum systems, dust collection, trim handling, air/water pollution control and dust detection. These changes allowed Carrington Engineering Sales to increase its capacity and offer more technical services as well as turn key installations. In 1998 Mr. Carrington began his transition into retirement and sold the company to Todd Pickens. Mr. Carrington still focuses on customer development. Mr. Pickens oversees all aspects of the company's operations. In 2001, Carrington Engineering Sales opened an office in Richmond, Virginia at the request of the principles. In addition, the product line was extended to include polymer pumps, filtration, mixing and valves. Todd Pickens
