Carrington
Engineering Sales has designed and fabricated waste tow systems
for the synthetic fiber market since 1963.
Waste tow systems are used in the removal and collection
of waste fiber during the string up and spinning or production
of synthetic fiber such as polyester or nylon.
In the process of spinning or extrusion of synthetic fiber off spec or waste fiber is produced during start up, doffing or breaks in the fiber. Carrington Engineering Systems aspirate the fiber using vacuum or a combination of compressed air and vacuum to capture and convey the fiber to a centralized waste storage.

These systems eliminate the collection of fiber on the operating floor eliminating safety and secondary manual handling of the waste. Additional benefits are the , reduction of compressed air usage, reduction in fly or particulate in the air, and increased production during string up of the spinning equipment. Typical scope of projects include design, waste tanks, specialized anti-snag tubing, aspirator nozzles and string up guns. These systems are applied to both staple and filament production. Waste can be transported to balers or waste tanks located outside of the restricted production areas. |
